Life Science Day Field Trips

According to the latest studies only 28% of all fifth graders scored at or above the proficient level in science. The goal of these life science field trips is to provide a hands-on approach to learning. The Grace Foundation in partnership with UC Davis developed a state-approved curriculum to develop and strengthen an understanding and interest in the life sciences. Grace is proud to provide an innovative approach to fulfilling the state standards requirements in science. These field trips can be structured to accommodate grades 1st through 8th.

An example of what participants can learn include plant structure, water cycle, local ecosystem, heart and muscles, digestion, anatomy, animal science  and recycling.  In addition, participants can learn about natural horsemanship, empathy, animal behavior, veterinary medicine, team building, life skills and volunteerism.

Additional activities include grooming, leading, and a meet-and-greet tour of the animals at the ranch.
