The Grace Foundation is proud
to offer Therapeutic Horseback Riding Lessons and equine assisted activities for individuals with Special Needs.
With Instructors certified through NARHA, the governing board for horse-related therapeutic programs in the U.S., all lessons are supervised and assisted by trained
horse leaders and side-walkers. Therapeutic
Riding enhances physical growth through activities targeting balance, coordination, fine and gross motor skills, as well as
providing acceptance and social interaction. Riders will learn horsemanship skills while bonding with and
caring for their equine friends. Mounted activities follow themes with exercise games to promote fun, yet
challenging experiences. Unique to The Grace Foundation, riders have the opportunity to participate in
our “enhanced” programs, which include a host of ground-based, educational and sensory activities in our own Pony Town. Lessons
run 1 hour – 1 ½ hours once a week and include one-on-one supervision from greeting and grooming the horse to
riding, playing, dismounting and un-tacking. Individual or group lessons are available, with the option
of participation in our enhanced educational/sensory programs.
